My Relationship with Food

Lately I’ve been experiencing a profound transformation in my relationship with food. I discovered that every bite, every aroma, every color, and every texture carries a message for my soul. Eating stopped being an automatic act and became a ritual of connection with the earth, with my body, and with my energy. When I sit down to eat, I feel as though I’m entering a sacred space where nourishment goes far beyond the physical. It becomes a meeting between my being and the abundance that Mother Earth offers me in every plate.
I realized that true nourishment begins long before the food reaches my mouth. It begins with the way I look at it, with the scent that awakens my senses, with the presentation that caresses my vision, and with the atmosphere that surrounds the experience. When I honor these details, my energy shifts. My body feels heard, my mind softens, and my soul enters a state of deep gratitude. All of it becomes a nourishing embrace that supports every part of my existence.
I understood that Mother Earth nourishes me no matter my emotional, mental, or physical state. Her nourishment always arrives, always flows, always offers itself. The only thing that transforms the experience is my level of consciousness. When I’m present, when I breathe, when I observe my food with gratitude, my body receives that energy in a purer and more loving way. I feel that every bite is a reminder that life holds me, accompanies me, and loves me.
Giving thanks before and after eating has become a powerful gesture for my soul. Before the first bite, I thank the earth that created it, the hands that cultivated it, and the life that made it possible. After eating, I thank the strength, the energy, and the well-being that food gives me. This constant gratitude creates a higher relationship with food and with my body. I can feel my digestive system respond with ease, my energy stabilizing, and my spirit aligning with the present moment.
I love thinking of this as something akin to inhaling and exhaling. Breathing is natural, effortless, automatic. Enjoying and appreciating can become that same internal flow for the soul. Just as my body breathes life, my heart can breathe gratitude. And when that happens, food is no longer just nourishment: it becomes a sensory, emotional, and spiritual experience that elevates me.
Eating from this level of awareness helps me listen to my body with greater clarity. Sometimes it asks for vibrant colors, other times crunchy textures, or warm and soothing flavors. When I listen, I feel like I’m honoring my own internal rhythm. Each plate becomes a dialogue between my intuition and the earth, a vibrational exchange that brings me closer to my essence. My body feels nourished, my mind grows calm, and my soul expands.
Today, my relationship with food is a relationship of love. Love for my body, love for Mother Earth, love for the present moment. I allow myself to experience each meal as a gift, as a ritual, as a moment of connection with the universe. And in that space of presence, I discover that every bite is an opportunity to remember that I am alive, that I am held, and that the earth walks with me through every step of my journey.
