When Everyone Chooses Wine, I Choose Tequila

When everyone drinks wine, I drink tequila. And I don’t do it to stand out, nor to be different. I do it because tequila connects me to something that lives deep within me: my roots, my fire, my land, my story. While I watch others enjoy their glasses of wine, I embrace the ritual of tequila as an act of presence—an intimate ceremony where I remember where I come from and who I am when I allow my essence to speak.
For me, tequila is not a drink; it is a symbol. It is the distilled spirit of a land I know well, of agave that grew under the sun and waited patiently to transform—just like each of us in our own life processes. Every sip brings memories—of family, of laughter, of celebrations, of deep roots that still vibrate inside me—and it brings me back to the center of my personal power.
Drinking tequila in a space where everyone chooses wine reminds me of the beauty of being authentic. It teaches me that expansion happens when I honor what I truly enjoy, what my body recognizes, and what my spirit celebrates. I love the sound of the glass touching the table, the sweet and strong aroma, the gentle warmth rising through my chest, and that inner spark that ignites with the first sip. It’s as if tequila speaks my language.
Every time I choose it, I choose it from a place of freedom. From the pleasure of following my own rhythm. From gratitude for my roots, my identity, and the story I carry with me. And while others raise their glasses of wine, I lift my little glass of tequila with an inner smile that says: thank you life, thank you earth, thank you Vicente, thank you for this authenticity that belongs to me.
I love to think that we all have something like that—some small but sacred gesture that reminds us who we are, even in the middle of others. Something we choose not out of habit, but out of connection. Something that makes us feel alive, present, and true to our essence.
So when everyone drinks wine, I drink tequila. Because in that simple act, I find my inner fire, my joy, my freedom, and also my father. And because every sip is a reminder that it is always beautiful to choose from the heart, even when the choice is different.
Cheers.
